I have read this Peter George. It is excellent. CS Lewis meets the Aussie Bush. At a few points I was brought to tears. Pete, you are a brother with a keen eye for the deeper things. There are so many gems of wisdom. I loved the words from the old grey kangaroo challenging the fox’s scarcity mindset. ‘There was always enough when it was shared. There will be enough again.’ I was encouraged to be a more generous and patient person. I will be reading this book to my grandchildren. I wish it was around when my kids were young.

A young boy spends the summer at his grandfather’s to experience lessons that some people may never learn. My favorite quote: “Storybooks will tell you that evil is ugly, and it would be very convenient if that were true, but it is not, and you ought to know it.”; a good real world life lesson that evil isn’t justified by looks but actions. An adventurous and clever combination of elements from Animal Farm, Lord of the Rings, and a bit of Aesops fables.
